Project update 1/2022

A new year has begun and the NewSETS team has been busy. Here is the latest project update.

The energy system models have now been prepared for their first simulation runs. For this, the NewSETS team is using the sophisticated energy system modelling and simulation tools Plexos and EnergyPLAN.

At the moment, the NewSETS team is finalizing their annual reporting to be sent to ERA-Net. The report is expected to be complete in mid-March.

Moreover, the team has decided to organize an open house event for Ålanders. The main idea is to showcase the technologies and to inform locals about NewSETS. Do you live on the Åland Islands? Stay tuned for this fun opportunity to learn more about NewSETS!

Liisa Naskali, the NewSETS team’s Polar Night Energy representative, is going on maternity leave. Markku Ylönen (CTO, Polar Night Energy) will be substituting Liisa.
